Seventy years ago, American scientist Stanley Miller designed his famous “primordial soup” experiment, successfully recreating the foundations of Earth’s first living organisms. He demonstrated that the essential molecules of life could form spontaneously under the known conditions of early Earth. Since then, science has advanced, and our understanding of the origin of life has evolved.

In this video, Professor Juan Manuel García-Ruiz, corresponding Principal Investigator of the PROTOS Project (DOI 10.3030/101118811), introduces the Miller experiment, highlighting its profound relevance for our research.
